James Wellman , M.D.

James Wellman, MD originally began our practice in 1976, after completing his fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. He obtained his medical degree and did his residency at Emory University.  He began one of the first Sleep Centers in Atlanta and currently works three days a week at the Sleep Center of Georgia.   Originally from West Virginia, with vast clinical experience, Jim serves as an excellent role model and advisor to the younger physicians in the practice.  He is the proud father of two and grandfather of four.  He continues to push himself both clinically and physically.  His passion for clinical medicine is paralleled only by his passion for playing squash.
