- January 2008: Dr. Howard Silverboard led efforts to reduce the incidence of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia resulting in St. Joseph's Hospital winning a 2007 Quality and Patient Safety Award by the Georgia Hospital Association. As a result of SJH winning a third consecutive award, SJH was also awarded the inaugural Circle of Excellence Award for Hospitals.
- February 2008: Dr. Paul Boyce was newly appointed as the Medical Director of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at St. Joseph's Hospital. The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is a program of information, exercise training and support, which is specially designed for people with asthma, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, which includes Emphysema and Chronic Bronchitis) and any other chronic pulmonary condition.
- February 2008: Dr. Ralph Haynes was listed in the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the top 100 people leading Atlanta's health-care industry. As noted, Dr. Haynes has held multiple leadership positions in the Army, and in the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. He also was president of the Medical Association of Atlanta and is a clinical professor at Emory for the past 10 years. He is currently the Senior VP of Medical Affairs at St. Joseph's Hospital.
