Ralph Haynes, M.D.

Dr. Ralph Haynes merged his practice into our practice in 1996.  He came to Atlanta in 1977 after completing his pulmonary fellowship at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. He obtained his doctor of medicine at Emory University with an internship at Boston City Hospital.  He served a distinguished career in the United States Army, where he achieved the rank of major general and also served as the senior medical officer at the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. He has served on numerous boards and committees in Atlanta.  He is past president of Atlanta Medical Association and an active member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta. Presently he is Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at St. Joseph’s Hospital and works part-time seeing patients with pulmonary disease and sleep-related disorders. He is board certified in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine and an Emory University clinical faculty member.  He is fluent in German and enjoys traveling with his wife and six children.
